Prior to establishing Woodcross Capital, Mehdi spent over a decade in legal practice with major international law firms advising financial investors, corporates, banks, debt funds and DFIs.
Mehdi's transactional experience spans a broad range of sectors and geographies, having executed numerous complicated cross border financings (including leveraged buyouts, project financings and real estate financings) and restructurings across the Middle East, Africa and the wider region. Mehdi has advised clients across the capital structure, including senior and subordinated creditors, borrowers and shareholders and is well versed in Islamic finance principles.
Mehdi is registered as a solicitor in England and Wales and graduated from Manchester University with a B.A. (Hons) in Accounting and Law and completed his legal practice course with the BPP Law School.
Omid is a finance expert with over 15 years of industry experience in investment banking and equity research covering mining and oil & gas. Omid's most recent position prior to establishing Woodcross Capital was with the Debt Capital Markets Group at HSBC Bank Middle East where he was responsible for the origination of investment-grade bonds for corporate and sovereign clients in the Middle East.
Omid has also been part of the Leveraged and Acquisition Finance Group at HSBC Bank Middle East, where he advised a diverse range of clients, executed leveraged buy-outs, and was involved with acquisition financing transactions. Before HSBC Bank Middle East, Omid honed his skills and knowledge in equity research at Byron Capital Markets where he covered a number of stocks in the lucrative mining, oil, and gas sectors.
Omid is a certified Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and has an MBA from the Ivey School of Business in Canada.
Hassan has 15 years of investment experience in hedge funds and private equity firms acting as principal and advisor covering multiple asset-classes.
Hassan has most recently been advising on investments in the energy sector focusing on decarbonisation investments within the hydrogen and natural gas space leveraging his ESG experience to develop an expertise within the space. Hassan has worked as a fund manger across a number of investment firms including; Juno Finance, TVG, BlackRock and State Street Global Advisors.
Hassan holds the Investment Management Certificate which is administered by the Charted Financial Analyst (CFA) UK. Hassan graduated from Bayes Business School (formerly Cass) with a B.S.c (Hons) and was registered with the Financial Conduct Authority in the UK.
